How to Automate Product Stock Update Using Schedule

In Valigara, you can automate product stock updates by creating a scheduling product updates from an FTP/SFTP feed file.

This guide explains how to prepare the update file, create the product update format, and schedule the automatic update.

Step 1: Create a template

• Prepare a spreadsheet with the product data that should be updated in Valigara.
• Catalog Code (SKU) is the only mandatory field for updating products.
• If you manage multiple stock locations, create a separate column for each location.

Step 2: Create a product update format

• Open the Catalog page. Go to Products Import/Update.
• Open the Update tab. Upload the file.
• Select New format.
• Map the columns from the spreadsheet to the relevant Valigara system fields.
• Click Save. The product update format is now ready to use.

Step 3: Set up a schedule

• Go to Channels and open Schedules from the left-side panel.
• Click the + button and select Import Schedule.
• Enter a title for the schedule.
• In the Type section, select the product update format created in the previous step.
• Enter the datasheet URL.
  • Supported file types: xls, xlsx, csv, or txt
  • Supported links: http, https, ftp, or sftp
  • Use a direct link to the file, not a link to the folder containing the file
• If the host requires authentication:
  • Check the Basic access authentication checkbox
  • Enter the login and password
• Define the schedule options according to the selected format type.
  • For product updates, the Update type allows you to enable Overwrite images and Advanced mode for updating multiple listings across multiple channels in bulk.
• Select an existing Scheduling template or create a custom schedule.
• Click Save.
