Creating VCatalogs

The procedure consists of 2 main actions:


  1. Design VCatalog
  2. Assign products


Design VCatalog


    1. From Product Catalogs page hit the "Add new Catalog" button.



    2. General section lets you customize global preferences, while Layout section defines what data is rendered in products and how users navigate to them.

    3. Hit "Save and Exit" once you're done, you will be redirected to Product Catalogs page.


The VCatalog edit page allows adjusting the data displayed in the catalog, and it's appearance. 

The VCatalog settings are organized in 2 tabs: General and Layout



General: Main


  • Title: the name of your Catalog
    • Show: makes your title visible on top of banner of the catalog
  • Subtitle: additinoal information, displayed as a 2nd line in the catalog header
  • Slug:  the part of a URL that identifies a particular VCatalog in an easy-to-read form
  • Company name: appears in PDF version of the VCatalog
  • Comments: appears in PDF version of the VCatalog 
  • Emails of contact person?
  • Open for Valigara distributors: if checked, the catalog is visible to potential buyers in the Vendors page of Valigara's Distribution module
  • Banner: top image of the catalog



General: Data Setup


  • Product title: Valigara field used in the VCatalog
  • Price Field: Valigara field used in the VCatalog 
  • Currency to be used: Currency displayed in the VCatalog near the Price field
  • Discount, %: recalculates prices from Price Field for all products in the catalog 
    • Discount rate is not visible in the website  or PDF version


 



Layout: Catalog Layout


There are 2 layout types in the VCatalog:


  • Gallery 
    • Set the amount of columns and rows per page 
  • List  
    • Products count on Page - defines the amount of products on the VCatalog main page:
    • Show fields: The product fields to be shown on items' pages. You may also change the way every of these parameters are named on website by modifying "Title on site" field.
    • Show image: whether to show image on products' listings.
  • Default sort: how products are sorted initially
  • Show Add to Cart button: this button lets visitors add products to cart to review later
  • Show navigation: defines if the top navigation tools are displayed
  • Show Footer - define if to display the VSite footer in the VCatalog
  • Filters: define which fields appear in VCatalog filter
    • Filter title - the field title displayed in the VCatalog 
    • Filter field - field used in the filter
    • Filter sorting
      • By Result Count - puts most used field values first
      • By ABC - puts field values in alphabetical order
      • By Valigara Order - puts field values in the order they appear in the Valigara back-office 
    • Filter type    
      • Single to select one field
      • Multiple to select multiple fields
      • Range to select a range of field values (ex. sizes)




Layout: Product Page

  • Description: what Valigara field is used as product's description
  • Show Links to Channels: if the product is posted on externals sales channels, show their links
  • if the VCatalog is used in combination with VSite, VCatalog can offer direct purchase actions: 
    • Show Add to Cart: Show the "Add to Cart" button on the product page
    • Show Add to Wishlist: , add the product to wishlist for later review on VSite
  • Product fields: product fields to be shown on the Product page
    • Title on Site - name of the field displayed in the VCatalog 
    • If left blank, the original field name is displayed


Assign products


    1. Hit the "View Products" button:



    2. Hit "Add Products" button, it shows the pop-up with preferences.

  1. Choose the type: There're 2 types of VCatalogs: Static and Dynamic. Static VCatalogs do not change in content after their creation, Dynamic ones on another hand feature products by specific rules. It means that if a certain product was changed after the Catalog creation and it meets the Dynamic parameters, it will be included.
  2. Define: search parameters for Static and conditions for Dynamic catalog.
  3. Search products
  4. Mark them for adding
  5. Click "Save products", you will be redirected to current VCatalog products list.



Populate (duplicate) existing VCatalogs for specific Clients:


For scenarios when small changes should be made to a VCatalog, duplication function comes handy.

You can do so from VCatalog page with this button:

Later on make small (or big) changes without building the Catalog from scratch so it reaches your Clients faster!

 




  • VCatalogs can be used in an online and PDF form
  • VCatalogs can be easily created by duplicating an existing one
  • After the VCatalog is created, remember to assign products to it
